EZRIDE is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If you provide certain information
by which you can be identified, it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
EZRIDE may change this policy from time to time by updating this page.
Collection of Personal information
Personally identifiable information (“PII”) refers to any information about an individual maintained by an organization. PIPEDA sets the ground rules for how private-sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of for-profit, commercial activities across Canada. It also applies to the personal information of employees of federally regulated businesses such as:

- airlines
- telecommunications companies.
Personal information is data about an “identifiable individual”. It is information that on its own or
combined with other pieces of data, can identify you as an individual.
The definition of personal information under PIPEDA generally includes information about your:

- identifying numbers such as your social insurance number, or driver’s licence,

the personal information would be considered obvious and you voluntarily provide personal

Use of Personal Information
We collect and use your information to understand your needs and provide our products and

If you have previously consented to sharing PII with EZRIDE, you may elect, at any time, to
withdraw your consent and request to have such information deleted. Please email us at

Security
We take appropriate security measures to protect against the unauthorized access, alteration,
disclosure or destruction of your data. These include internal reviews of our data collection,
storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and
physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to the systems in which we
store PII.
We restrict access to personal information to organization employees, contractors and agents on
a need-to-know basis. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be
subject to discipline, including termination, as well as civil action and criminal prosecution, if they
fail to meet these obligations.
We do not guarantee that we will eliminate all risk of potential misuse of your personal information.
There is no such thing as perfect security, and we cannot guarantee the security of any data
(including PII) that we receive and store on our systems or on those of our service providers.
You are responsible for keeping any passwords secret to prevent unauthorized access to and use
of any offerings to which you have access.
Location Data
The EZ RIDE app uses a passenger and drivers’ location from their mobile phone location for purposes as follows:
- EZ RIDE’s Insurance always requires the location of the driver to determine rates and for incident investigations.
- Passenger convenience for location pickup. This ensures accuracy and allows the passenger to easily fill out their pickup location when booking a ride.
- Location tracking allows for quick routing for the driver when on route to destinations, or when a new route is required while on route to the pickup/drop off location.
- Location tracking for the driver is used to predict timing for waiting passengers, giving them an accurate wait time for when the driver will arrive to their pickup location.
